I am a 69-year-old UK tax resident (UK and Austrian passport holder), retired chartered accountant, planning to move to Cyprus in February and become Cyprus tax resident under the 60-day rule. I have no property in the UK or elsewhere and live off pension income and savings; net worth approx. £1m including a UK SIPP of ~£750k plus ISA/liquid funds. I currently receive ~£36k p.a. (incl. UK State Pension) and intend to increase income once Cyprus resident. I plan to rent initially in Paphos, identify a property to purchase within ~4 months, and draw pension funds after tax residency is achieved to fund the purchase. I am seeking advice on Cyprus tax residency evidence and timing, UK Statutory Residence Test/split-year interaction, UK SIPP taxation once Cyprus resident, and non-dom eligibility. I do not intend to be tax resident in any other jurisdiction and will upload a full background document. I would like to be matched with advisers experienced in advising UK retirees on Cyprus tax residency and pension taxation.
